A little story about pregnancy jewelry
This whole website started because people used to contact us and ask if there were something they could wear throughout their pregnancy.
"Of course!" would be our surprising answer - often, the response would be "my piercer told me I should perhaps try a piece of fishing line.."
eeeew. Are you serious? How clean is that? What are you going to do, go into your husband`s stinky tackle box and snip a dirty piece off?
That disintegrates inside the body somewhat, and you`re more than likely to build `gunk` on it. And it`s much, much smaller than your piercing. Plus, what do you do to keep it from simply sliding out? Tie a not on either end? What happens when it gets caught on your belt? OUCH!

We were contacted by a female police officer. She had been in an altercation while arresting someone, and her steel navel bar had torn out, taking the skin & piercing with it - painfully. We sent her a pregnancy navel bar which she took to her local piercer. The piercer had not seen it before, but repierced the woman, and in fact used the pregnancy jewelry for the piercing itself. A week later, the piercer contacted us - apparently her coworkers had been coming in asking where they too could get the same pregnancy navel bar, and she (the piercer) wanted to buy some too!
Shortly thereafter, the same police officer had another difficult arrest (we assume it was a different perpetrator this time...) and she felt her navel bar tear out during the struggle. After the commotion was over, she went to a washroom to check for `damge` - there was none! The top ball had simply popped off (they`re pushed on to fit, not screwed on) and the navel bar had slid out safely without causing an damage to her pierced skin. She simply felt around and found both the ball and the navel bar tucked inside her shirt.
